The Story
Muhammad Ali stood tall. And at 6'3" (1.91 m), Ali had a highly unorthodox style for a heavyweight boxer. Rather than the usual style of holding the hands high to defend the face, he carried his hands low and relied on foot speed and quickness to avoid punches.
As the world knows, his style worked. Muhammad was a 3-time heavyweight champion of the world after defeating Sonny Liston, George Foreman and Leon Spinks.
His title fights against Liston and Spinks were almost 15 years apart, proving that Muhammad Ali had more than foot speed and quickness. He had the endurance to go the distance.
